Samba - Windows File Shares

Samba is a service for sharing files and directories, which also allows access to the home directories. Access is only possible from the campus network. Login is done with the Uni-Account.

The host name of the server is as follow:

smb-serv.informatik.uni-bremen.de

Shares

The Samba server offers several shares, called shares, that a client can access. A share can e.g. be a file system or a printer. The relevant shares of the Samba server are the following:

\\smb-serv.informatik.uni-bremen.de\home: Home directories (analogous to /home in NFS).
\\smb-serv.informatik.uni-bremen.de\homelog: Home directory of the authenticated account (analogous to /home/$USER in NFS).
