Home Directories

Every account automatically receives a home directory where arbitrary files can be stored, including the user profiles of the pool computers.

The files are accessed via NFS or Samba. For example, on the Linux computers, the home directory is automatically mounted via NFS at /home/$USER.

Storage quota

Home directories initially have a storage quota of 25GiB. If this is not sufficient, an increase can be requested from the technical staff at service@informatik.uni-bremen.de.

Viewing storage usage

The restriction of disk space is implemented as quotas linked to the respective account. Conventional tools for displaying free and used space on file systems generally do not take such quotas into account.

The actual used and free space of home directories can be viewed via the FB3-Usertools.
