Access/Data Protection
The Access Control System in the MZH: Data Protection
The access control system has been approved by the data protection officer of the University of Bremen.
Information on data storage in the control PC of the access system can be found in the chapter Data Storage in the Control Computer in the Concept for the Access Control System. Only a globally unique internal identification number is stored on the cards themselves.
For each opening of an access-controlled door with an access card or by other means (key, transponder), an entry is stored in a booking list on the control PC; the entries each contain the date, time, door number, and, if applicable, the number of the access card. This booking list is shortened once a day by deleting old entries.
The shortening of the booking list is carried out in such a way that the list essentially contains all bookings from the past week. (The adherence to this time frame cannot be precisely controlled, as only a maximum length can be specified when shortening the booking list, not a specific time period.)
In the event that the booking list needs to be read and evaluated, the procedure that was agreed upon for the old access control system in the practical area of FB3 will be (roughly) applied.
